Flossy’s Easter Bonnet

Tuesday, April 20th, 2010

Oh Dear! Oh Dear! Oh Dear! Hello my Faiylings! I am so very busy and I have not written in so very very long! Well let me tell you what is happening – EASTER!

Do you know what that means – the Easter Bunny is coming and we have to get ready for the Parade and the Fair and the Easter Bonnet Competition. The Easter Bonnets are my favourite part! Every Fairy Princess keeps her bonnet a secret until the day and then we all come out to the parade in our beautiful bonnets! The Fairy Queen and her Prince judge the competition and I think mine might just win this year!

Shhhhh and make sure you only whisper it is a super huge secret! I am making a real live bonnet! My bunny Bounce, who you know is pink and fluffy, is going to hop around a big square bonnet and hide easter eggs! Bounce is going to have a beautiful grassy platform and some lovely little shrubs which the elves kindly gathered for me. And then I got some colours from Rainbow, some star dust from, well Stardust and some beautiful glitter from Sparkles to decorate the little eggs. And I just have to go and see Petals and Poppy to get some flowers from the forest and some long, curly ribbons to tie it under my chin from Ribbons!

Oh this is so exciting! I can’t wait to see how it turns out! I will be sure to tell you all about it next time!

Fairy Princess Blossom’s London Easter

Thursday, April 15th, 2010

Hello Fairies!!!

Its Blossom calling again from a land far, far away called London in the United Kingdom. Oh how lucky I have been these past 6 months. Can you believe that I have been away from Fairland for 6 months now?? How time flies – and oh how I miss the Fairy Queen and all the Fairies in our land!!! But I have some VERY VERY VERY exciting news to tell you.

Over Easter I was flying around just enjoying the views of our land when a little blue bird caught up to me and said the Easter Bunny needed some help. Well let me tell you, I flew straight to him to see what I could do. Turns out his poor little Easter Maid fell quite ill and wouldn’t be able to help him hand out his special chocolate coated Easter eggs to all the smiling children for Easter. I simply must help I said. So, for 4 days I went and helped the Easter Bunny hand out bundles of chocolate Easter eggs for all the boys an girls in London.

It was a very big job, but we had so much fun and the Easter Bunny is such a funny bunny.. Afterwards I shouted him to a big glass of carrot juice and gave him a chocolate coated carrot for Easter. He told me to send on many hugs and kisses to the children back in Australia and he hopes that you all got some really special Easter Eggs. Make sure you don’t eat them all at once though, might give you a tummy ache!

Happy Easter Everyone!!!

Lots and lots of fairy love from

Easter Bunny gives recipe for Hot Cross Buns!

Tuesday, February 2nd, 2010

Yes boys and girls, you heard it right! The one and only Easter Bunny gave our very own Fairy Princess Buttons the “very special, very secret, very delicious” (I was quoting the Easter Bunny there) recipe for the Hot Cross Buns he and his mother eat over the Easter period.  Buttons came running to me this very morning, jumping with excitement, telling me all about her visit from the Bunny and how he had imparted the magical gift of his special recipe. She asked me if I could put it up in our blog, so that you can all practise a little before Easter, and maybe make some buns to leave out for the Easter Bunny when he comes to hide some eggs at your house!

Are you ready? Here it is!
750g plain flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
250g currants*
300ml milk
3 eggs, beaten
1 egg, beaten, for glazing
2 sachets dried yeast
2 tablespoons mixed spice*
125g butter
100g brown sugar
Paste for crosses: 1/4 cup flour mixed with a little cold water
– Put the flour, yeast, salt, mixed spice and currents into a bowl and make a well in the centre.
– Melt the butter and add the milk together with the sugar. Warm to blood temperature the same as your fingers – yeast is very temperature sensitive.
– Pour the milk and butter mixture into the well and add the beaten eggs.
– Mix until a soft dough is formed.
– Turn out into a lightly floured board and knead until the dough is very elastic (about 15 minutes).
– Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl and allow to rise in a warm place for about 90 minutes until the dough has doubled in volume.
– Preheat the oven to 200 degrees C.
– Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured board and knead again for a few minutes.
– Divide the mixture into 12 pieces and form each one into a bun shape.
– Place onto a greased tray and leave for approximately 15 minutes until doubled in bulk.
– Mix together the flour and water for the crosses and pipe onto the buns.
– Brush with egg glaze.
– Bake for approximately 15 minutes and cool on a wire rack.
*Some cooks wanted these ingredients left out.
So, make, eat, and enjoy!!!

Fairy hugs,

The Fairy Queen
(well, Fairy Princess Buttons and The Easter Bunny really!)
Oh, PS: Buttons told me that the Easter Bunny drank Green Tea with her! Fancy that!

The Easter Bunny & Fairy Floss!

Monday, April 6th, 2009

Hello Fairylings!

Well it has been a very busy start to the year! I have been busily assisting the Easter Bunny in getting ready for his deliveries! We have been making eggs of all different kinds. Some really big and some really small. There are yellow ones with red spots, blue with purple swirls, green with pink flowers and even orange with silver stars! So many different colours and lots of chocolatey goodness. Easter Bunny has been borrowing some of my many Fairy Floss flavours for them and he has been helping me to make little Easter baskets for my Fairy friends.

I have made an Easter basket full of chocolate and mango dust eggs for the Fairy Queen, some Turkish Delight eggs for Fairy Lah, Toffee Honeycomb for Stardust, Rose Petals & Cream for Rosebud and some for me – Choc Pumpkin! And so many more for all the other Fairies. I am going to have Easter Bunny deliver them for me – I will have to make sure to tell the Fairies to leave their bonnets on the end of their beds so he has some where to put them.

We fairies like to help where ever we can – it is fun and nice to help your friends. I know that Crystal has arranged for Easter Bunny to borrow a Pegasus again – though I am not sure which one? Stardust and Twinkle are making certain the sky will be nice and bright with the stars all clean and shiny so he can see clearly on his way – hopefully Raine will not be experimenting that night! I will need to run and speak to Rainbow and get some more beautiful rainbow coloured paints for the eggs. We have so many to do and not much time, I think I will see if Petal can come and help after she has finished tending to her garden.

Did you know that the Fairy Queen is organising a Fairyland Easter Egg Hunt? It will be in the beautiful gardens of the Crystal Castle and we are all invited – I am so excited I am very clever at finding them! But the Fairy Queen is very sneaky and won’t give us any clues – she has been busy planning it all and won’t tell any body any thing – it makes it so much more exciting. Each fairy has to make her own basket with her name on it. Mine is woven fairy strings that I got from Sparkles – and they are all silver and shimmery. I have a handle covered in cherry blossoms which of course I got from Blossom.

Now make sure you all remember to leave out your Easter Bonnets so that Easter Bunny has somewhere to put your eggs – and be careful – sometimes he can be tricky and hide them in the garden!

Well wish me luck on the hunt and I hope you all get lot’s of Easter eggs!

Love Fairy Princess Fairy Floss xoxo
