Fairies at the Red Hill Fair

Tuesday, July 27th, 2010

It’s that time of year again and we’ll be doing our regular fun and games performance on the Red Hill Fair main stage this coming Saturday (31st July). We’re on stage at 11:45am, and there are some fabulous performers both before and after us. We’ll be up there singing and dancing and having lots of fun, and we’d love for you to come and play with us! We’ll also be walking around granting fairy wishes to all the kids enjoying the festival!

It’s a great day out for the whole family – aside from the fantastic fairies, there are rides, and animals, and stalls and food, and… well, all sorts of fun stuff!

Gold Coast Turf Club, ACT for kids, and Fairy Queen Productions

Wednesday, August 20th, 2008

Hey fairy groovers,

The Gold Coast Turf Club, has a race day this Saturday in aid of ACT For Kids (previously the Abused Child Trust) and we are going along to give them our support. There will be lots happening on the day, a performance by us at 1:35pm on the main stage (which surely will be the highlight of the day), face painting, pony rides (well, it IS a racetrack), a petting zoo, a climbing wall, a jumping castle, a wave slide, an olympic obstacle course, and OF COURSE – Fairy Floss!!! WOOOOO! Oh, and we’ll be there most of the day just granting fairy wishes and spreading the general fairy lurve before and after our fabulous all-singing, all-dancing stage show!

All of these activites are free – we just really want some gold coin donations as this is the money that will be going to ACT (they don’t get any money from the entry gate, any of the races, or anything spectacular like that). So it’s really up to you in regard to how much money we can raise for this needed charity organisation. We’re giving up our time (and quite a few parties) to be there for free, so please, just drop a few coins in the donation boxes on the day!

We really hope to see you there for a great, fun-filled fairy day!

WHEN: Saturday 23rd August from 10:00am
WHERE: The Gold Coast Turf Club, Racecourse Drive, Bundall
WHO: Us, in aid of ACT for kids (formerly The Abused Child Trust)
WHAT: Performances and FREE fun for the kids! (oh and some horsies racing around too)

Lots of fairy love,

The Fairy Queen

That’s right everyone – the Fairy Queen mounted Basil the bull at the Brisbane Ekka this week and rode him around the Enchanted Forest! Whoever thought they”d see a fairy on a bull? These wonderous things can only happen at the Ekka!

Check out the video here:

Red Hill Fair 2008 – SO much fun!

Sunday, August 3rd, 2008

Hey fabulous fairy friends,

We had SO much fun at the fair and there was a great turn out! We wandered amongst friends, and then did a fairy-tastic half hour interactive performance on the main stage. We also got to show off (and demonstrate in our own fairy way) the items that were up for auction.

Our favourite honourary friend Finn travelled down with his family, especially to see us and he even took some great photos for us. You will find them below, along with the fabulous photos Fairy Floss took for us. (I’ll tell you all about Finn in our next blog installment!)

Fairy Cheerleading at the Brisbane Ekka

Wednesday, September 12th, 2007

Well, here it is, the long awaited video of the fabulous Fairy cheerleading at Ekka 2007. The amazingly energetic Caboolture Cobra Cheerleaders got us all up and taught us how to shimmy and shake with our poms (yes, a whole new language!). I think we’re all pretty good actually – it was a lot of fun, and what a great way to get fit!

Fairy Queen at the Brisbane Ekka

Monday, August 20th, 2007

We had a fabulous time up in the Enchanted Forest at the Ekka this year. We played lots of games, ate lots of fairy floss, and met some wonderful people. Is your photo in our Ekka album? If you have a photo with the Fairies from Ekka this year that you would like to see here, please send an email to the Fairy Queen!

The wonderful Finn, who convinced his mum and dad to come back to the Enchanted Forest for a second day of playing with the Fairies. We welcome you to our flock Finn!

The beautiful Porscha, another little fairy who came back for a second day in the Enchanted Forest.

Check out this fabulous fairy hairstyle! Ekka style that is! This beautiful girl came and entertained us for a while – wait until you see her sister!!

Yes! This is her fabulous sister – what a great family!! Check out that wonderful Unicorn!

We loved this little girls’ doll. Fairy Princess Rainbow and Alan just had to get in on the photo!

This lovely young man came out from the CWA food place to have a photo with the Fairy Queen!

We had lots of photos taken with lots of wonderful people!

Ah! The Fairy Floss girls. This was one of my favourite stands. Everyone has to have fairy floss (and daggy dogs) when they come to the Ekka!

Everyone wanted to join in with the Caboolture Cobra Cheerleaders!
