Fairies Speaking Spanish!!

Sunday, September 23rd, 2007

Hello from Fairy Princess Snowflake…

Today Fairy Princess Stardust and I flew all the way from Fairyland to celebrate Fairy Princess G’s 6th birthday. We had such a fabulous time singing and dancing. Stardust danced her fairy heart out so much she tore a hole in her brand new gold fairy shoes. She was fairy sad for a little while…….but not to worry – they are now in at the fairy cobblers, and with a little fairy magic, will be good as new in no time at all.

Fairy Princess G and her friends taught Stardust and I something new, and I was very excited because fairies love to learn new things! All the little fairies at today’s party were so very clever – they taught us how to say thank you in Spanish, which is ‘gracias’! It is a little tricky to say so I will have to keep practicing.

Well I must fly I have lots of wishes to grant before the sun settles on Fairyland. So until next time little fairies, may sunshine and rainbows bring happiness to your day.

Fairy cuddles,

Fairy Princess Snowflake

Fairy Babies

Monday, September 17th, 2007

What a fabulous weekend we just had! Something fairy wonderful happened! We were all set to fly off to Fairy Princess Z’s party on the Gold Coast, when her excited daddy rang to say that Z had become a big sister early that morning! Fancy that – how clever was Z’s mummy to make sure her little sister arrived in time for her party! Everyone here at Crystal Castle thinks that this must be the best birthday present ever for Fairy Princess Z! Fairy big congratulations!

Talking about babies – we have some exciting news of our own! Fairy Princess Bubbles is going to have her very own fairy baby. YAY! We all know that Bubbles will make a super fantastic mum, and her fairy baby will be a champion bubble blower no doubt! Sadly, this means that Fairy Princess Bubbles will not be flying out to any parties for a while, but we all look forward to the day she returns to Crystal Castle. Thank you so much Bubbles, for all of your fabulous work – you made many mini fairies very happy! Lots of love and congratulations to Rebecca and Tim – stay tuned to this channel for fairy baby updates!

Fairy Cheerleading at the Brisbane Ekka

Wednesday, September 12th, 2007

Well, here it is, the long awaited video of the fabulous Fairy cheerleading at Ekka 2007. The amazingly energetic Caboolture Cobra Cheerleaders got us all up and taught us how to shimmy and shake with our poms (yes, a whole new language!). I think we’re all pretty good actually – it was a lot of fun, and what a great way to get fit!

National Bilby Day

Sunday, September 9th, 2007

The second Sunday of September is National Bilby Day – that means it’s today!! Fairy hugs for all the bilbies – we hope you are having a Bilby-wonderful day!

We met Frank the Bilby Man from the “Save the Bilby Fund” at the Ekka this year and learnt all about Bilbys and what we can do to help these cute little guys. Bilbies, a type of Bandicoot, used to be found all over Australia, but they have become endangered due to feral animals. They are only found in a few spots across Australia now. The Save the Bilby Fund have created a bilby sanctuary in the Currawinya National Park (near Charleville) surrounded by a a 25sq km electrified predator-proof fence. You can help the Fund maintain this area through donations or by purchasing some of their fabulous merchandise. Click here for details and be sure to take a look at the fabulous jewelry created by Sandra Miliken. Your school could have Frank the Bilby man come and visit and tell you all about Bilbies too. He even takes a real live Bilby with him (Frank even has one named Frank! See our photo below).

Fascinating Bilby Fact # 1: Bilbies don’t need regular access to water because like koalas, they get most of their water from their food.

Fascinating Bilby Fact # 2: Bilbies have backwards opening pouches so that when they burrow, the dirt doesn’t get in! Clever hey?
